Real Classy Esso: Customer Receipt Insult

I can’t believe my Esso receipt just questioned my loyalty. Just filled up the pump, paid for a car wash and got my receipt.

Look in the picture below, it says:

“LOYALTY: NO”

I realize it indicates I didn’t swipe my Esso points card, but seriously, has anyone looked at the receipt to see what message they’re sending?

I guess filling up every week at Esso isn’t good enough for them. ;-)

Hahaha. Now how did this really make you feel?

  2. I know what you mean! I was doing some things in my Lulu storefront the other day, and I saw the depressing message, “You don’t have any Lulu friends.”

My initial reaction was, “Wow, that sounds like a grade school playground insult!” :o )

I’ve sold the printed version of my books via Lulu for the past few years but have never even looked at the “social” features they have there – simply because time is short and I try to limit the places I socialize online.

I do agree that businesses need to think carefully about these “unfriendly” messages they project to their customers! :o )

Yeah, that`s probably not the message they really intended to send. Oops.
