Photoshop in Advertising: Reitman’s, This Is Pretty Disappointing

I don’t know about you, but this bad photoshopping of a “plus size” model is outrageous.

  1. I’m speechless…appalled… flabbergasted. Both as a plus size woman and as a designer. Wow. That’s just bad.

Hmmm…I don’t know now. I found a more full-length photo that this ad was made from and other pictures of the model . I wonder if this lovely woman is a victim of bad photography and horrid editing, as opposed to anything really sinister.

If you search part way down the Plus Size collection, you’ll see a few pictures of her:

    So what do you think?

  3. ...ok says:

The model is actually like that guys. I’ve seen her in their flyer/magazine thing (in stores) So your research before posting.

Hi …ok or Jen. My comment above indicates that I looked through some other pictures and found it tough to tell. Either way, the photo sends the wrong message (the editing IS horrible and the full shot looks much better) because there are a lot of people doing Google searches about Reitman’s and Photoshop. I am definitely not the first to wonder. :-)
