Here’s our little girl getting ready for her first ballet class. This past Christmas we tried to focus more on less on “things” and more on experiences and gifts that won’t occupy landfills one day. This class was a gift from my parents.
Her Daddy took her to her first class and apparently, she wasn’t totally impressed with the teacher’s idea of dancing. She wanted to freestyle instead. Still proud of my little ballerina.

So cute!
We did the same this past Christmas. We saw the Wizard of Oz at a local theater and by the end of the month we are going to see the Harry Potter exhibit in Seattle.
She’s a cutey! I went to ballet when I was little. I think my Mom was trying to train some of the clumsy out of me. (Did not work) I have very vague memories of it. Mom says I wouldn’t dance at all!
Sounds like fun, Tsoniki!
LOL…Kelly. I never did ballet or any dance, but did do gymnastics for a few years. I really loved it and wanted to be good at it, but largely, I sucked!
I studied ballet (and other dance) for over 10 years (hard to believe now) and I was never that cute. Of course, we had to wear ugly dark green leotards so there was no hope! We all looked like frogs instead of ballerinas.
I love the idea of giving experiences instead of “things”.
Much as I love ballet I hope she never stops freestyling
Lisa
Dark green? Interesting.
I did go to a dance store to get her stuff and they do have standard accepted colors, but the store owner told me pink was still readily used by schools here. Of course, it’s “ballet pink” (if that’s the right term) which often looks more like beige than really pink.
